AOL’s Platform-A Bags Turner Ad Business, Ramp-Up Begins

By Robert Andrews - Tue 08 Jul 2008 01:33 AM PST

AOL’s (NYSE: TWX) Platform-A ad network has won display ad business from Turner Media Innovations (TMi) - its first significant European deal since landing The Spectator magazine’s website in February. TMi is Turner Broadcasting’s year-old digital consultancy here, offering ad sales and sponsor packages across its brands including Cartoon Network and Nuts TV. AOL’s Platform-A is trying to integrate its wealth of ad-business acquisitions in Europe after last month’s appointment of Brendan Condon (pictured) as London-based international head. Platform-A had hooked 3D teenage community Habbo Hotel as its first client last August but, other than The Spectator announcement, things had gone somewhat quiet.
