Broadband Content Bits: MSN Messenger TV, BBC Video Up, Times/Sky News

By Robert Andrews - Mon 12 May 2008 12:26 AM PST

-- MSN: Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) has added Messenger TV to its Windows Live Messenger in 20 countries, including this one, allowing IM users to simultaneously watch and share programming from its library of MSN Video clips. At the same time, it’s fielding complaints that links to YouTube videos are being blocked from Windows Live IM users. More detail at our sister site mocoNews.net

-- BBC: More stats showing how the decision to ditch RealVideo and Windows Media in favour of embedded Flash is improving BBC News video use. Since the move a month ago, media traffic has grown 50 percent - daily unique A/V users up to 762,000, daily plays up to 978,000.

-- Times Online: The newspaper site could add Sky News as a video news partner, through a possible “deal on breaking news video and on expertise”, EIC Anne Spackman tells The Guardian. Adding to our story last week that Times Online is also looking at partnering with WSJ.com, there is clearly nascent integration afoot at News Corp.
