Dailymotion: No Sale Talks, Profitable Soon; 10M Euros This Year

By Rafat Ali - Mon 19 May 2008 04:29 PM PST

The France-based online video site Dailymotion says it is not in talks with anyone for a sale, and the CEO Mark Zaleski also denied French media group Lagardere had ever courted the business. He was speaking to Reuters at its TMT summit today.

Dailymotion only started selling ads in July last year but said it expected to make more than 10 million euros ($15.60 million) in revenue this year, confirming another report earlier this year. “We are not actively looking to try and sell the company,” Zaleski said. “We are in growth mode. We are past the start-up phase and now in the consolidation and monetization phase.” Dailymotion’s three founders own 21-22 percent of the company while the balance is held by individual investors and PE firms.
