Elsevier Buys Italian Online Health Info Service Edra

Elsevier, the biggest publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and part of Reed Elsevier (NYSE: RUK) Group, has bought out Edra, an Italian online healthcare information company with a network of trade and consumer sites and services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Edra, based in Milan, operates Medikey, the largest online medical and healthcare professional community in Italy. It also publishes online magazines such as Doctornews33, Dermatologia33 and Cardiologia33 for doctors, Farmacista33 for pharmacists and Pharmamarketing to pharma managers. On the consumer side, it has Dica33.it, a consumer health portal, and Doctor33.it, a doctors portal, among others. More in release.
