Hachette ‘Won’t Change’ DigitalSpy, Will Change Its Ad Sales Ops

By Robert Andrews - Sun 27 Apr 2008 11:52 PM PST

Magazine publisher Hachette Filipacchi, which bought TV and broadband news and community site DigitalSpy this month, promises concerned forum users it won’t change the site following the acquisition, says new acting digital head Anna Jones: “We don’t want to suddenly go in and wreck something which is hugely popular. We won’t. It’s fantastic; we want to carry on with that.” But Hachette will be bringing the site’s advertising sales ops in-house, from using an outsourced agency. Also on the agenda - more video and better navigation, says the team in this Independent feature.

Sky has its own Sky Anytime catch-up service. Last night, Murdoch also defended BSkyB’s (NYSE: BSY) soon-to-be-gone 17.9 percent stake in ITV (LSE: ITV) and said of newspapers: “I promise you they will grow.”
