Havas Increases Stake In AIS, Launches International Digital Expansion

By David Kaplan - Tue 06 May 2008 10:01 AM PST

French advertising holding company Havas has increased its 40 percent stake in London ad shop Archibald Ingall Stretton as the two prepare a combined International network offering digital and creative services, Brand Republic reports. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Also, the amount of Havas’ increased stake in the company was not revealed, though it is still a minority shareholder. Havas said it will increase its stake to majority status over the next few years.

The new international network combines Havas Media’s digital brands, including Media Contacts, with AIS’ creative offerings in the UK and in new markets. The two plan to open new offices in Spain, Portugal, the US and Mexico over the course of the year. Stuart Archibald, a partner at AIS, will head up the new network’s international expansion, as well as continue his O2 duties in the UK. Jon Ingall and Steve Stretton, his partners, will remain in the UK.
