Industry Moves: Absolute Radio Takes Digital Director From Bauer

By Robert Andrews - Tue 15 Jul 2008 03:56 AM PST

New Virgin Radio owner Absolute Radio will use Bauer Performance digital director Chris Lawson to fill the hole created by the loss of Andy Gumbridge from its equivalent position last week, MediaWeek says. Gumbridge left in a directorial restructure (see our earlier post), with the digital team being merged with the marketing department, so Lawson will now become brand director. Absolute parent Times Of India bought Virgin for $106 million last month but will have to change the name on licensing grounds. Lawson had overseen sites like heatworld.com and FHM.com at Emap (LSE: EMA), but is one of many to leave after its acquisition by Bauer.
