Industry Moves: C4’s Kangaroo Exec Henwood Seeks New Digital Ventures

By Robert Andrews - Mon 03 Dec 2007 03:57 AM PST

One of the execs behind the upcoming Kangaroo online TV service will quit his employer in the new year. As Channel 4 new business director, Rod Henwood helped establish the joint BBC Worldwide, ITV, (LSE: ITV) C4 venture, announced last week, as well as 4OD before it, but will leave in April. He said (via Guardian): “I recently concluded that the completion of the Kangaroo deal would represent a natural break point in my association with Channel 4 and would be a good time to seek a new commercial challenge within the media industries. With the end of this particular pipeline in sight, I want to embark on a new venture within the digital media.”

When we interviewed execs from the three Kangaroo partners last week, Henwood said 4OD would migrate to the new service, to which they would look to add portability options.
