Industry Moves: Eurosport Poaches From MSN France; Hachette Filipacchi Caretaker

By Robert Andrews - Mon 14 Apr 2008 05:12 AM PST

-- Eurosport: Eurosport is poaching MSN France group channel manager Arnaud Maillard to become its internet director. MediaWeek: “Maillard will focus on developing Eurosport’s interactive community and games.” Indeed, though Eurosport claims to be Europe’s number one online sports destination, that’s probably because it outsourced its website to a Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) JV 11 months ago. Maillard was with MSN France since 2005.

-- Hachette Filipacchi: Maybe last week’s acquisition of online media news site/forum DigitalSpy has thrown in to sharp relief the fact that mag publisher Hachette Filipacchi doesn’t have a digital director. It’s given Anna Jones the role on an interim basis, standing in for former Associated News Digital boss Dave Killeen, who left in February for eFinancialCareers.com. Jones, who joined HF in 2005 to market women’s mags, will combine both roles until a replacement is found for Killeen. Via BR.
