Industry Moves: Google Regional Head Jumps To Last.fm

As if to provide added discussion fodder for our Q&A with co-founder Martin Stiksel this evening, Last.fm has just taken Google’s (NSDQ: GOOG) northern and central Europe strategic partnerships head F. Scott Woods as its first SVP and MD for Germany, owner CBS (NYSE: CBS) says. Germany boasts the second biggest Last.fm user base after the US, and some of the founders are variously either German or Austrian, so Woods will set up an office in Hamburg. Existing German partnerships for the social music site include the Spiegel Online and Bild.de newspapers, on which its radio player appears. Woods had spent four years with Google, which he joined after stints with Gruner + Jahr, AllAdvantage.com and Axel Springer
