- IPC Media: IPC Advertising has appointed Richard Whittle, former digital planning director at media agency Initiative, to the newly created role of corporate business development manager for digital. Whittle will head up the team that ensures clients advertising needs are coordinated across both IPC’s digital and non-digital platforms (press release via NMA.co.uk).
- GCap: The radio group back in May said it wanted to increase its online ad inventory with an extra £2.1 million web development investment. It’s this week that it’s announced it is creating a dedicated online sales team to bring in the customers. Interactive commercial director Paul Sigaloff will head the unit, which basically sees an increase in the existing digital sales staff from five to 15, Media Week says. Integrated on-air/online sponsorships, video and audio advertising are in the works.
- MTV: MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA) International has appointed ex Isobar Global Management digital strategy manager Andy Chen as VP digital solutions in its in-house Viacom Brand Solutions International sames unit. He is charged with developing a Europe-wide digital sales strategy, says Brand Republic.
