Industry Moves: Trinity Mirror Makes Second Regional Digital Change

By Robert Andrews - Mon 28 Apr 2008 10:38 AM PST

Trinity Mirror (LSE: TNI) is continuing to shuffle the multimedia chairs at its regional division, promoting Liverpool Daily Post and Echo assistant digital editor David Higgerson to regional multimedia head. Higgerson will in June replace Mike Hill, who left to become assistant editor of South Wales Echo. Hill had joined in August 2006. Higgerson will report to regional MD Neil Benson. The company hired former Virgin Media (NSDQ: VMED) portal management director Chris Bunyan as the digital director for its regional business last month, filling a gap created by David Black’s promotion to group digital director. It comes with Trinity Mirror still in the process of upgrading its fleet of regional websites - a process that, in many cases, involves abandoning the “ic” portal brands in favour of newspaper-branded sites.
