- ITV Launching Made For Mobile TV Series “The Gym”: ITV (LSE: ITV) premieres its second made-for-mobile (and internet) TV show on Monday. The “mobicom” The Gym, is a comedy series starring Might Boosh actor Rich Fuller. It will launch first on ITV Mobile and then on ITV.com’s entertainment channel a week later.
- Yahoo And T-Mobile UK In Mobile Ad Tie-Up: The search firm will provide display advertising on the network operator’s internet service Web ‘n’ walk in the UK. The partnership with T-Mobile follows a similar deal made with Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) and means that Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) now has access to two out of four of the UK’s top networks.
- Controversy Over Ofcom’s Plan For Spectrum: Vodafone and O2 have attacked Ofcom’s plan to auction off spectrum for 3G services, because it involves taking some of their 900 MHz spectrum and letting the other telcos bid on it. O2 estimates implementing Ofcom’s plan, outlined last September, will cost both companies a total of £13bn.
- Three picks Fonestarz: Fonestarz will power Three’s new Pix photos-and-wallpaper service in the UK and Ireland. The deal involves a library of 20,000 images and animations including those from Disney (NYSE: DIS), Manchester td, and Aardman.
