-- Voda, Orange, BSkyB Eye Tiscali Acquisition - Reports: FT.com has added Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) to the unsubstantiated list of companies interested in buying on-the-block Italian broadband/telco/IPTV group Tiscali, which yesterday set a May 5 sale deadline.

-- Harrods To Use “Cult’ Barcodes; US Barcodes Revisited: Department store Harrods is trying mobile QR codes in newspaper ads to call attention to “Design Icons”, a new exhibition in the store, featuring fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, among others. The store is targeting a “new customer base - thought leaders, as well as students - and this is a way of communicating with them through a different medium that feels new”.

-- BBC in mobile TV holding pattern: Auntie is running down its mobile TV streaming trial on Orange, Vodafone and 3 before considering how to go forward. Though the NMA article suggests a continuation of “mobile TV”, not even the Beeb is yet certain what that means exactly. Mobile head Matthew Postgate: “The BBC is committed to mobile TV but not any one technology. People have been using the service but we need to view how we turn it into something really good.”
