3 Launches Free Google Mobile Search In Ireland, Google Equipped Phone Debuts In Italy

Mobile operator and media company 3 in Ireland has launched free Google mobile search on its 3G handsets, Ireland.com reports. The service is part of a wider campaign by 3, which sees Google available on its handsets alongside Yahoo! and Windows Live Messenger. The Google search engine, which sits on 3’s mobile Internet homepage, searches across the Web, images and the mobile Internet (which is in beta at the moment). Google mobile news also comes with the search engine, allowing users to customize their mobile news according to interests and keywords. Google news categories, such as world news, science and technology and entertainment, are already included.

In related news, LG Electronics says it has launched its Google equipped Symbian smartphone (the LG-KS10) in Italy, Cellular News reports. The device comes with Google search and services pre-installed, including one-click access to Gmail Mobile, and Google Maps Mobile.
