MySpace Launches Comedy Channel, Videos From WME

What’s a music label doing launching a comedy site? In time for the Edinburgh Festival, Warner Music Entertainment, WMG’s video wing, has launched MySpace Comedy for the social network, an extension of WME’s previous ComedyBox profile. The idea is that WME is managing all the content - which comes from its library of DVD comedy releases comprising shows from BBC and others - while MySpace will retain advertising control. WME is hoping to get traffic through to the DVD ecommerce section of its old profile.
