PPV Funerals Streamed Live Online, From A Crematorium Near You

Next in online media - funeral services webcast live online. The price to viewers? £75 a go. Reuters reports that crematoria services provider Wesley Music is striking deals with crematoria across the UK to allow mourners to access a password-protected funeral webcast, captured by a small camera mounted in the chapel. Funeral director’s Henry Powell & Son in Southampton reported it had already tested the service during three funerals, with mourners from as far away as Australia and Canada signing in to view.  Though the company has been criticised as “macabre”, the company’s director Alan Jeffrey said that the service was “a very important service” that meant far-flung mourners “dispersed across the world” wouldn’t be excluded in their time of stress. “This is something that can ease the pain,” said Jeffrey. And at a whopping £75 a view, should the service take off, it could be a business plan to die for.
