Endemol, the Dutch reality TV and game show producer, has been handed an unspecified amount of cash by its parent company intended drive acquisitions in Russia, the United States and South America, Reuters reported. Speaking before a group of European media executives in London, Endemol Group CEO and chairman Aat Schouwenaar also said that one of the goals in deciding on M&A targets will be to build up the company’s digital holdings, particularly in the online and mobile areas, as well as production firms that have creative talent and are developing their own formats.

The company wants digital work to account for 20 percent of Endemol’s business within the next five years. Aside from its digital desires, Schouwenaar noted that up until last year, Endemol had lacked the financial wherewithal to even consider embarking on any major buyouts, but now plans to make up for any lost time.
