German Business Social Network Xing Turning To Ads

By Dianne See Morrison - Tue 13 Nov 2007 04:47 AM PST

Business social network Xing will carry advertising on its platform before the end of the year. The German company hopes to use the revenues generated from the ads to fund further expansion of the site. Initially, online ads will be placed on select sections of the site, and will increase as Xing works out how to present its users with more relevant ads. The site, which charges its Premium Members a subscription fees, said the ad income would allow it to keep its pricing flexible and offer more functionality to all its members.
