Another executive departs Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) UK. After four years at the search engine, regional sales director for Northern Europe and the “face of Yahoo’s search operation” Richard Firminger has quit the firm, Mediaweek reports. Firminger departs with no new job to go to at a time when Yahoo is pushing hard to fight Google’s iron grip of the UK search market and as the spectre of layoffs and Microsoft’s hostile bid hang over it. Firminger was behind the launch of Yahoo’s recently revamped paid search platform Panama. In October and November of last year, three Yahoo sales execs left, including commercial head Blake Chandlee, head of agency strategy Stephen Haines, and group head Jon Harvey. As of December, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) claimed a whopping 81 percent of the UK search spend, while Yahoo had a mere 6 percent.
