Updated below: In UK, BT’s much hyped IPTV service BT Vision will finally launch next Monday, reports Guardian. The initial rollout is likely to be low level, with a big push planned for spring next year, and BT will focus on supplying BT Vision boxes to BT Broadband customers who have pre-registered for the service since March.
No word yet on the costs. Here’s a description of all the content deals it has done (about 20 of them till now).
AFX:  Users will have to buy a BT-branded set-top box—combining a digital TV receiver and wireless internet router—but there will be no monthly subscription for the service. Instead, users will only pay for the archived films or programmes they view. They will not be charged for viewing the UK’s basic free-to-air channels.

Updated: Times UK says that the service was originally supposed to have a “catch-up” service for shows from BBC and ITV, so that users could watch the shows on demand later, already available on the rival television services NTL and HomeChoice. But now they will have to wait until next year. The absence of BBC programs going back seven days stems from the fact that the Corporation needs to win approval for the service from its regulator, the BBC Trust.
