Channel 4 Sells Mobile TV Voting Firm Ostrich to iTouch

By Rafat Ali - Tue 07 Nov 2006 11:22 PM PST

In UK, terrestrial Channel 4 has sold its participation TV (mobile TV voting) subsidiary Ostrich Media to iTouch, the mobile company that runs Big Brother’s telephone voting for C4.
C4 sparked concern within the production community on which it relies for programming when it set up Ostrich last summer to produce a dedicated call TV channel for it called Quiz Call. ITouch, which also provides audience interaction for C4’s Deal or No Deal, now plans to expand the activities of Ostrich Media in the UK and overseas, providing call TV content and services for broadcasters around the world.
