France Telecom Merges Content Units Across Brands

By Rafat Ali - Thu 18 Aug 2005 03:10 PM PST

France Telecom, the European giant which own Orange and Wanadoo brands, is forming a central digital content services division to aggregate content acquisition and service launches across these brands.

The division plans to use the market muscle and European reach of its newly merged fixed and mobile brand to get better content deals from music and film companies.

Orange’s head of music and video Gerard Grech has been appointed to head the new division. For the integrated fixed and mobile Orange brand, music will initially be the core focus for the new division.
