Industry Moves: Bebo Hires Google’s Shields; Kopp, Coke’s Interactive Guru Joins WebTrends

Bebo: The San Francisco-based social networking site has hired Joanna Shields from Google as president-international, as it moves ahead with expansion plans; Shields will be based in Bebo’s new London office and will report to CEO Michael Birch. In her previous role as Google’s managing director of strategic partnerships in Europe, Shields was responsible for brokering the search giant’s recent alliance with BSkyB. (via Variety.com)Release
WebTrends :Tim Kopp is leaving his post as VP-global interactive marketing at Coca-Cola after two years to become CMO of the web metrics company. AdAge credits him with crafting a special promotion on YouTube in which users could create their own holiday video cards. Kopp has been a board member of Portland, Ore.-based WebTrends, whose clients include Ticketmaster and IKEA. Kopp joined Coke after eight years at Procter & Gamble, where he led interactive marketing for the global beauty-care division. He will leave his post at Coke by the end of January. Release
