Jamba Music Goes Beta (German)

By James Quintana Pearce - Thu 27 Jul 2006 08:08 AM PST

I’ve poorly translated the following from German, so if any German speakers notice any mistakes please let me know…
The Jamba (German arm of Jamster) full track music service, which is due for launch in August, has launched in beta mode. It will apparently require people to download Jamba software onto their PCs and mobile phones, and songs will cost 1.29 euro each or 14.95 for a months subscription. This seems to be a 30% premium on the cost of songs on iTunes, but the music will be available for all MP3 players based on Windows Media 10, not just mobile phones. There’s DRM involved as well, which could affect things.
The test phase will begin in September wtih 500,000 songs from Universal and Sony BMG, which is later than the previous announcement.
