UK’S Telegraph Group Sells Handbag.com to NatMags for $41 Million

UK’ National Magazine Company (Natmags), owned by Hearst Corporation, has bought the network of Handbag.com websites for around $41 million. The four specialist sites for women - getlippy.com, allaboutyou.com and gomamatoday.com - were owned by The Telegraph Group for two years and are one of the UK’s biggest women’s network, generating about 30 million page impressions per month. The acquisition is reported to be part of a strategy to expand to the US under parent company Hearst. MD Nancy Cruikshank is staying with Handbag in the move to NatMags. NatMags recently formed a digital division. earlier in March, it also bought out a consumer health website Netdoctor.
